Leisl and Parker
We were matched on the 10th December 2011, I saw Parker’s picture and profile and thought he was cute so I sent him an ice breaker. Due to the time difference he was asleep but by the time I woke up the next morning he had sent one back. We started emailing that day and by the end of the week we had figured out we could talk via an app on our phones, we knew we liked each other and we clicked really well - even though we are from different ends of the earth! By Christmas 2011 we knew it was serious so we told our families that we were planning to meet in March 2012.
First time you met
On Saturday 17th March, Parker flew to Australia to see me, 5 flights and 36 hours later he finally made it! It was early in the morning and I had driven to the airport in the rain and was so nervous and excited to meet the man that I had fallen in love with. It took nearly 2 hours for him to get through customs, I was so impatient to see this man and had my eyes glued to the exit for the whole time! All of a sudden I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned around and there he was, standing right behind me. I was so relieved - I hugged him and kissed him on the cheek. The rest of the day was so surreal having him there with me, being able to reach out and touch him and not see him through a screen was so amazing. We spent the day getting to know each other and just relaxing and being so happy to finally be together. We went to lots of scenic places and places that were special to me that I wanted to share with him in our short time together.
My parents flew us over to Perth so they could meet him, it was a whirlwind day of Parker meeting my best friend, my grandparents, my sisters, my nieces and nephews and brother in law! That night we went to King’s Park in Perth, which looks over the CBD and is lovely at night. We walked around for a while and ended up at the whispering wall. We sat at opposite ends of the wall and Parker started talking to me through the wall, telling me how much he loved me, what a nice time he was having with me and how he never wanted to be without me and wanted to take care of me always. He asked me to marry him through the wall and then came over and got down on one knee and asked me again with the ring in his hand, I said yes immediately!
The wedding is set for Sunday 9th September 2012. We are hoping to have it near the Pittwater sailing area as Parker loves sailing and I love anything to do with water. Both my sisters will be bridesmaids and two of Parker’s best friends will be the groomsmen.
I chose eHarmony because I’m a Christian and had certain standards and ideals that I wanted and needed in my man so it helped cut out all the guess work and only match me with people that I wanted to be matched with.
