We both joined eHarmony in 2005 after we had tried other online dating services, and were pretty burned out on the whole online dating thing.

We were both done with Mr. & Mrs. Wrongs, and were both really ready to meet our soul mate, get married, and live happily ever after.

The other sites felt like shopping Walmart for a companion, and often times, people lied about who they were, or had less than honorable intentions.

While I was going through many of the matches sent to me, I received a communication from another member who had been sent my profile. My now fiancé, Frank.

We immediately started corresponding, and had gone through all of the steps, and were so excited to meet! Frank had to be patient with me, as I had lost my voice, and wasn’t well enough to get together for a couple of weeks, as I was just getting over the flu.

He likes to remind me what a cute squeaky voice I had during our first phone conversations.

We finally set a date to meet at Canyon's in Redmond WA for our first date, Friday, March 11th, 2005. I got there first, and nervously waited for him. I must have gone in the ladies room at least 10 times to make sure I looked ok. The last trip from the ladies room, I recognized him standing there, looking around for me. I walked up and gave him a great big hug!

He says he was so happy to see me, and no one had ever been so sweet, that he loved that I walked up and hugged him, and it felt like we were already great friends and he was very pleasantly surprised. We already felt like we knew each other so well because of eHarmony's process and it made it instantly comfortable for us to be together.

We managed to stay at the restaurant until the wait staff and bartenders hinted they were closing and we had to go. When I got home, he had already emailed me through eHarmony to tell me what a great time he'd had. We had planned on talking on the phone on Sunday, but he jumped the gun and called on Saturday instead. So I told him to grab his coat, gave him my address, and took him to a friend's birthday party.

eHarmony definitely got it right on the spot! He was my first date through eHarmony, and my last. We've been inseparable ever since!  We put all our eggs in one basket, and haven’t looked back since.

We have everything in common, finish each other's sentences, and are truly best friends. We continue to surprise each other when we go to pick out furniture, paint, garden stuff, or whatever together because we agree on everything. We bought our living room set within 5 minutes of walking into the store! 

Our special place is the coast, and we go there whenever we can. We love all the same things, camping, outdoor concerts, wine tasting, etc.

Weird thing is, for years before we met through eHarmony, we lived less than 10 miles from each other, and worked less than a mile from each other, but had never crossed paths, and agree that we probably wouldn’t have noticed each other. We weren’t each other's type, although upon meeting, we were instantly attracted.

Now we share everything together. We really do complete each other, and we have eHarmony to thank for that!
