Nat and Anjali
Nat: “I saw the adverts on TV and I was feeling quite curious about eHarmony so I thought I’d give it a go and see what it was all about. I downloaded the iPhone app and Anjali’s profile caught my eye straight away.
After months of chatting through various means, I made the decision to go to Botswana to see her. I went for her brother’s wedding to be the photographer and a great excuse to meet Anjali in person. It was quite surreal looking back. We went on a safari for three days after the wedding and really got to know each other. For me, our ‘official’ first date didn’t happen until we were back from our safari and went out in her home town. We knew each other pretty well by then so our ‘first’ date was great!
It was a given that we would see each other again; we’d already fallen in love. I can’t say that the distance isn’t hard, but we speak every day and love each other enough to make sure that it works out. I’m going back to Botswana in September and we will come up with a solution to be together.”
Anjali: “A friend of mine suggested that I tried online dating but I’d never even considered it before; where I’m from, online dating isn’t the norm. From the very beginning of my communicating with Nat it’s been pretty amazing; he had me interested from the word ‘Hello’. We went through all the stages and eventually moved to WhatsApp and FaceTime and we spoke to each other every day.
Living very far apart, our first date didn’t happen straight away. Five months after we started communicating, Nat came to Botswana to visit for two weeks. You could say that the first week was quite strange, awkward and a bit crazy, but the second week was wonderful, exciting and life changing. I fell completely in love with him that week.
We speak every day and he’s coming back for another visit in a few months; I can’t wait!”
