Samantha and Chris

Adelaide, South Australia

Samantha: “The difference between Chris and I meeting on eHarmony all came down to one day. Chris was on his last day of membership and I was on my first. If we hadn’t communicated with each other on this particular day, we would never have met.

We both joined eHarmony after our long term relationships with our respective partners broke down. I joined eHarmony to broaden my options to Australia wide, being from Adelaide originally, I felt like I knew everyone and had decided that I needed a fresh start. We started chatting, and having both been hurt in the past, we found a connection and began to really hit it off. We had all the same hopes for the future and both wanted someone to enjoy and share our lives with. We were both over the ‘young party days’ and just wanted someone with the same values as a companion.

As Chris was living in Sydney at the time, we spent a few months travelling between our two cities, getting to know each other. As our relationship blossomed, we couldn't stand the distance between us. We were spending all night on the phone, as well as Skyping and texting whenever we could. We decided that I would make the move away from my friends and family and move to Sydney.

It was the best decision I have ever made! Our relationship went from strength to strength. Seven months later, Chris proposed ten days before Christmas at Mistletoe Winery in the Hunter Valley. Of course, I said yes!

We have since moved back to Adelaide, bought a beautiful home together and are expecting a baby in February 2014. Our wedding will follow in Sydney next October.

We have a love that I believe truly is a one in a million kind of love. We consider ourselves the luckiest people we know and thank eHarmony for giving us the opportunity to meet each other. We often talk about the fact that if I had joined one day later or he had finished a day earlier, then our lives would have always had something missing forever.”
