Amanda and John
Amanda: "I had been single for two years and found it hard to meet men who had the same values, morals and respect as I do. I was convinced by one of my clients to try, as her friend had success with eHarmony. I was told by friends who had also used online dating services that eHarmony is the most real, where others are more for "quick" connections.
Our first date was cocktails in South Bank, where we sat by the water and laughed and chatted about everyday things. We felt really comfortable and relaxed with each other from the first moment.
There was a 2-3 week break between our initial meetings. Unfortunately we were both very busy with work and John was working until 2am most days. Regardless of the time we were in constant contact, calling and texting almost every few days, with very jovial and cheeky banter back and forth.
When we finally did catch up again it was a Sunday afternoon, we sat in the park at Melbourne Central and just talked for hours. We talked about our past, our fears, our family and of course our hopes and dreams, which we were pleased were incredibly similar. Unlike other first relationships we felt so comfortable with each other, we were ourselves and completely honest without any ulterior motive.
From the park we went for dinner which continued talking and laughing until the very late hours of the night. We had promised to see each other again after a very magical kiss.
From that Sunday we were talking daily, texting daily and on the Friday night following we met up to go ice-skating. We had the best time being uncoordinated and falling all over the place. We skated for hours, fell on each other and humiliated ourselves without a care. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun in my life.
From there John and I have been totally inseparable. We are utterly in love. A love so deep I could never imagine that I would have found it on the pages of eHarmony."
