Jane and Greg
Greg: “When I met Jane I was pleasantly surprised, she was gorgeous! It was one of those rendezvous where the person actually looked like how they described and represented themselves through their online photos. We decided we would do something different for our first date, and since then we have not looked back.
I joined eHarmony due to a lack of satisfaction with the dating site I was using ,and I was also encouraged by a family member to give it a go. eHarmony did the matching so that you wouldn’t get random people who had nothing in common contacting you, which happened frequently in previous online dating experiences. I had dated a couple of girls from the previous site I was on but they hadn’t worked out. I had also finished a long term relationship about two years previous to these, and was ready to find my true match.
Jane and I had communicated quite easily through email and text, but hadn’t yet heard each other’s voices. I felt fairly confident that our first date would go well, but didn’t want to get my hopes up too high as there was always the possibility for disaster.
We decided that we wouldn’t meet for a typical first date coffee, but instead go for a walk along a scenic part of the coast. We both felt that first date coffees with people you’ve met online often end up as an awkward encounter.”
Jane: “I had been single for a year and a half, going on a couple of dates in the last six months. Like Greg, I had a lack of satisfaction with the dating site I was using, and thought that eHarmony may offer closer matching with potential partners. It was more expensive, and I believed that would deter some people if they weren’t serious about seeking a partner.
Our first date lasted for a whole afternoon and most of the evening. We walked and talked, went for a drink somewhere, and went for another walk along the coast. We knew we had hit something special, and it was only a matter of making another date to see where things would go and hopefully progress. We agreed not to be overly confident about everything just in case something happened. We believed that it is one thing meeting someone online, and another to meet face to face.
There is a lot more I could say, but basically we dated again very soon after the first day – in fact it was the very next day! And we have not looked back. We are regularly seeing each other and discussing plans for our future to be together.”
